Salem Township Recreation Initiative

The Salem Township Recreation Initiative (STRI) was formed by a group of concerned citizens

and Township officials to raise awareness and raise funding for the development of recreation

opportunities in Salem township. STRI helped apply for public grants and were instrumental in

raising funds for the purchase of 174 acres of land along State Route 22 from the Seanor family

for recreational use. The STRI participated in the completion of the 2004 Recreation Master

Plan for Seanor Farm Park, providing additional fund raising and input during the planning

process. The STRI continued to supply its expertise in additional grant applications for the

development of Phase 1 and 2 of Seanor Farm Park’s recreation facilities including a large picnic

pavilion, restroom, playground and multi-purpose field.

Currently the STRI has begun its next capital fund-raising campaign to provide funding for the

completion of a baseball – softball field at the park. If you would like to help, donations can be
